Roy Baker:

Born: October 26, 1952 Guitarist of 45 years Married High School Sweetheart 1972, 2 Daughters. Life long Lake Co. family. Graduated Tavares High 1971First Band 1966: “Burnt Crisp”Other Bands: Ovations, Bitter Sweat, Brain Fog & Reminisce. Reminisce were the Opening Act for 60’s Motown Group “The Countours” Current band to date: The Roy Baker Band Roy Baker / Mike Black DUO. My first memory of music 1957, singing to a neighbor girl at age 5 “You Ain’t Nothing but a Hound Dog”. The most influential musical event of my life at age 11. The Ed Sullivan Show Feb. 9th 1964 The Beatles. After their performance, I turned to my mother and said, “I want to buy a guitar and play like the Beatles!” The rest is history.


Mike Black:

Born 1952. Married with 3 grown children, and numerous grandchildren. Born and raised in Lake County. Orlando business owner now living the dream. Rhythm guitar player and vocals in the Roy Baker Band and duo. Also play bass and drums. Other hobbies include camping, hiking, biking and exploring.


Jim Peterson:

Took his first music lesson at age 7 and started playing drums at age 11, in 1973. Grew up in the midwest and spent a lot of time hanging out at Jeff’s Drum Shop in Bloomington, Illinois. Was influenced by several famous jazz and rock drummers he met and studied from in the 1970’s. Started playing his first gigs with a locally well-known rock band at 15 years old. Moved to Florida in 1980, lived in Mt. Dora since 1999. Jim has played drums with many local and professional bands over the years playing mostly jazz, blues, Christian rock and rock ‘n’ roll. By day an Environmental Scientist, is married with two daughters.


Jim Wagoner:
Came alive in ’55. Grew up in Iowa, playing in various bands around the state from age 16 to 24. Put the guitars under the bed for 20 years while working around the country, finally settling in Longwood in the mid ’90’s. Pulled the guitars out from under the bed, dusted them off, and started gigging again once the kids got older. Played in clubs around Seminole county for a couple of years with the Thrill Hill Band (with Mike and Matt) before joining up with the RBB. Married; two kids and one grand-daughter.


Ray Lavigne

Brought up in New England, I have been a musician since the age of 3. Multi-instrumentalist who plays keyboards, drums, bass, guitar, vocals and Chapman stick. Played professionally in countless bands, most recently in a 9 piece funk band and a classic rock band. Retired from my day job at the end of June 2018. Wife and I moved to the Villages in Central Florida. I am excited to start this new life as a Florida resident and newest member of the Roy Baker Band!
